Joseph SMITH

Joseph was born on August 1st, 1844 in Nauvoo, Hannock, Il.¹ Joseph's father was Joseph Johnson SMITH and his mother was Mary Ann SMART. His paternal grandparents were William SMITH and Sophia BROOKS; his maternal grandparents are George SMART and Elizabeth. He had two sisters named Caroline Smart and Mercy. He was the youngest of the three children. He had ten half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Joseph William, George, Hyrum Coleman, Alfred James, Samuel Abraham, John Franklin, David, Jacob, Albert, Moroni Alma, Sarah Ann, Aldura Coleman, Julia Elizabeth, Rebecca, Florence Sophia and Ann Elizabeth. He died at just 19 days old on August 20th, 1844.¹
