John was born on January 25th, 1726 in Sandy, Bedford, England.1   John's father was John THORNTON and his mother was Ann ALLEN.  His paternal grandparents are James THORNTON and Mary FLINT. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Ann.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 77 in 1803 in Sandy, Bedford, England.  He was buried on November 28th, 1803 in Sandy, Bedford, England.1 1
