Minnie was born in 1888. Minnie's father was Walter Frederick Henry Biggs and her mother is Mary Ann Jenkins. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Henry Biggs and Annie Hodgins. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Earnest Edward Hobart, Leslie Reginald, Elsie Murial, Millicent Evelyn and Grace Winifred. She is the third youngest of the six children.
