Frank was born in June 1861 in Southwark, St Saviours, Surrey, England. Frank's father was Henry John Brunwin and his mother was Sarah Fox. His paternal grandparents were John Brunwin and Hannah Wade. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Henry, William, Arthur, William James, Ben, Ernest, Elizabeth Sarah, Alice and Emily. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 79 in 1940.
