Charlotte was born in 1849 in Fairlight,Hastings. Charlotte's father was Lawrence Faulconer Woolgar and her mother was Mary Gainey Pelling. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Woolgar and Ann Faulconer; her maternal grandparents were Dearing Pelling and Frances Easton. She had four brothers and nine sisters, named Arthur Faulkner, Faulconer William, John, Charles, Gainey, Emily, Caroline Elizabeth, Jane Frances, Jane, Elizabeth, Ellen, Kate and Nancy. She was the sixth youngest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 93 on June 11th, 1942 in Dunedin New Zealand.
