Jane was born in 1783. Jane's father is John Woolgar and her mother is Elizabeth Walder. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen Woolgar and Mary Elsey. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, John, Stephen, William, Isaac, Philip, Edward, Abraham, John, Elizabeth and Grace. She is the sixth oldest of the twelve children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John and Mary.
