Jane was born on July 3rd, 1805 in Little Paxton, Hunts, England and her baptism took place on August 25th, 1807 in Little Paxton, Huntingdonshire, England.¹ Jane's father was William THORNTON and her mother was Elizabeth CHRISTIAN. Her paternal grandparents are John THORNTON and Ann. She had three sisters named June, Jane and Sarah. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 82 on August 25th, 1887.¹
