Josiah B. SMITH

Josiah B. was born on February 13th, 1787 in Frederick Co., Virginia.¹ Josiah B.'s father was Jacob SMITH and his mother was Patience BALLINGER. His paternal grandfather was Joseph SMITH and his paternal grandmother is Rachel BEALS BALES; his maternal grandparents are Josiah BALLINGER and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named John, Joseph, Jacob, Isaac S., Seth, Elizabeth, Rachel, Nancy Ann, Mary, Lydia, Sarah J. and Hannah. He was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 80 on November 9th, 1867 in Illinois. He was buried in Irish Grove Cem., Menard Co., Illinois.¹¹
